This is a University of Washington Information School Capstone project for Winter/Spring 2021.
Social media has changed today’s information and communication world.
As a result, there has also been a rise in mis/disinformation, which has eroded users’ trust in social media platforms.
Through research, we look at how design considerations can influence what makes an information system “trustworthy.”
We are sponsored by the Center for an Informed Public (CIP) at the University of Washington. The CIP's mission is to "to resist strategic misinformation, promote an informed society, and strengthen democratic discourse."
Emily is a Ph.D student in the iSchool. She was our main point of contact with our sponsor and worked with and supported us throughout our project.
Rachel is a postdoctoral researcher with the CIP. She provided additional guidance on our project, especially in regard to our research and literature review.
Our team is no longer working on this project. We have handed ownership off to our sponsor.
