Twitter Factchecker

Twitter Factchecker is a feature Twitter implements for tweets that might contain mis/disinformation. Twitter puts a warning sign under specific tweets with accurate information about certain topics. Using such a feature, Twitter hopes that its users can determine the validity and trustworthiness of specific tweets with the accurate information in mind.

This feature allows Twitter to maintain the diversity of user base and voices on the platform, and maintain the authenticity of the information at the same time.

Through this feature, designers can focus on providing accurate information while still preserving social media’s role as a place where users can have open and critical discussions.

Users can use this feature to learn more about various aspects of a specific event and learn from the conversations of others. They then can make their own determinations when it comes to this issue.
